I have always striven to become a complete, all-round musician rather than just 'a guitarist' or a keyboard player' etc. Below is an overview of the musical skills I've developed over the years.

VOCALS
I have done many years of vocal training and can sing most styles including high range rock.
Can sing lead or backing/harmony vocals.
I understand all aspects of singing and how the voice works, including diaphragmatic support (singing and breathing from the diaphragm) chest vs head vs mixed voice, transitioning between vocal registers, clean vs distorted voice, vocal exercises and warm ups, etc.

GUITAR
Acoustic & electric.
Rhythm and lead.
Rhythm guitar styles including strumming, bass strum, fingerpicking (arpeggios, alternating thumb, monotonic bass and classical), rock/metal rhythm styles, plus other genres such as blues, funk, disco, jazz etc.

KEYBOARDS & PIANO
Can play either solo or in band situation in most styles.
Knowledge of scales and chords etc.
Understanding of different types of keyboards, synths and sounds etc.

BASS GUITAR
Can play most styles on bass, as well as play with pick or fingers.
​
MUSIC THEORY
Understanding of music theory including intervals, scales, chords, timing etc.
Ear training - relative pitch and perfect pitch, can work out most pieces of music by ear.
Can read standard music notation (treble or bass clef), tablature (guitar or bass) as well as chord/lyric sheets, including sight reading.

MUSIC TRANSCRIPTION
I have worked as a music transcriber and can work most music out by ear.

MUSIC PRODUCTION
Knowledge of both recording/music production and live sound setup.
Knowledge of DAWs including Cubase.
Knowledge of digital mixers., PA setup, plus monitoring (in ears, wedges)

SONGWRITING
I write music as a solo artist. I primarily write 80s influenced melodic hard rock but also have elements of synthwave and other styles in my music.
